Philosophy of Games

Sept 26 | 6.00-7.30pm | Elm Library

Games play a significant role in our lives, but they are often treated as too frivolous to be the object of philosophical reflection. What can we learn from games and how can we distinguish between games that are worthwhile and those that are a source of distraction and addiction? What are we to make of “gamification” - the trend to impose a game-like structure of many of our ordinary activities, from exercise to managing our finances?
