Philosophy at the Dinner Table

Sept 12 | 6.00-7.30pm | Elm Library

Our series of discussions about the philosophy of everyday life will begin with a meal and a discussion about meals. What role does the sharing of meals play in the building of community? What ethical considerations should influence our choices about what - and how - to eat? How can we preserve the importance of meals given the frantic pace of modern life, at college and after?

RSVP

The shared meal elevates eating from a mechanical process of fueling the body to a ritual of family and community, from the mere animal biology to an act of culture.
